On December 10th, Human Rights Day and the first day of the IOC's Executive Board meeting, the NOC Tibet demanded an answer from the IOC about their request for a Tibetan team to participate in Beijing. The IOC stated that they would not permit Team Tibet to participate. Athletes, said, "This won’t stop us, we will bring Tibet to the 2008 Games."
The protest was a collaboration of a worldwide coalition of Tibet organisations, including the Swiss Tibet group and the Tibetan Community in Switzerland.
